Bunny Rabbits! Big Bunny Rabbits!

If you happened to pass by San Francisco City Hall in April, you might have noticed an interesting sight...

All joking aside about giant mutant rabbits, ala the cheesy 1970s horror movie "Night of the Lepus", this adorable display titled "Intrude" is the creation of Tazmanian artist Amanda Parer.  The bunnies showed up during the first week of April and have been drawing in a lot of fans.

Yes, you can get close enough to touch them too, while under the watchful eye of some security guards.  There were concerns that someone might try to vandalize these cute bunnies so 24/7 security was hired to keep an eye on them.

The bunnies are supposed to be made of fireproof and waterproof materials.  Thus far, El Nino rains haven't affected them.

As amazing as these bunnies were during the day, towering over people in a light and whimsical way, they looked much much better at night.

Lit within by a network of LEDs, the bunnies cast a nice soft glow upon City Hall's Civic Center Plaza.

I daresay they almost look like lighted ice sculptures!

I think this one is begging to be taken home.  Sorry, bud, you're bigger than my apartment...

The bunnies will be moving on to New York City, Houston, Los Angeles, Denver, and then on to Portugal for the remainder of 2016.  You can check out the schedule on the Intrude page at Amanda Parer's site.
